Tidbit: Adi8ideas.co.uk portfolio images
Browsing a CSS gallery tonight, I stumbled upon a really nice touch on the portfolio images that are used for the relevant section of Adi8ideas.co.uk.
Each of the portfolio screenshots has a similar in theme background. Very nifty idea, gets the point across, showcases the work and differentiates it from the others.
Check a hot red, grunge work:
And a semi-retro, warm and cozy one for a wine bar:
Nice touch, shows that the artist has spent enough time with his portfolio.
On the other hand, I don’t understand why a light blue colour is used for the different types of work on the right, if those are not links. I thought they were links, I even hovered them. They are blue, aren’t they?

looks cool but I think it lacks in usability.
I don’t like the lightbox approach, I would have prefered to have the option to actually see the website or other work showcased. A simple link to a larger (or live) version would have done the trick for me. And yes, I expected the services list to be links as well - I suspect he aims to work to that direction, just hasn’t finished building the relevant pages. If that’s the case, he’s surely in the right direction:-)
