Firefox 2 goes live!
Just days after the official release of Internet Explorer 7 by Microsoft, Mozilla Foundation takes the leap and launches the new (and complete) Firefox 2!
It has a ton of new features, which include:
- Improved tab browsing with functionalities similar to Tab Mix Plus extension.
- A handy spell checker in english.
- Live update of suggested search terms in the Search box up to the right.
- Tab session save and restore.
- Improved feeds features.
- Live Titles (that sounds interesting).
- Various security holes fixes.
If you want to check the whole list of features, you can find it here. I am downloading it at the moment, both on PC and Mac. Let’s hope this overhaul is not for nothing for our trusted browser!

Hello Sugar, I just wanted to say that there is also a free Greek dictionary (based on the open source iSpell dictionary) available for Firefox 2.0 URI : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3439/. Now that’s cool… Oh, speaking of dictionaries have you ever heard the aSpell? It’s the cocoa-based version of iSpell for OS X (and not only), again with very impressive characteristics URI : http://people.ict.usc.edu/~leuski/cocoaspell/home.html
I have to write a post about them I guess, but I have so much to do at the moment (I’m searching for jobs back in Greece!!!)…Take care and download them!!!

Yay, I was looking for something like that, thanks John!
Too bad that some of my favourite FF extensions don’t work with 2.0 though… I guess that it’s a matter of time until they’re updated.
You’re searching for jobs too? Join the club!

Don’t worry about the extensions, they just need some time to test them (I bet they all work fine, but just in case)…
Don’t worry about jobs, you are a star
By the way what happened with the magazine job?!?!

What’s wrong with it?
It’s cool, I still write two columns for PC magazine, with the occasional article now and then.
I love writing
