People dressing up and the mock of death made me refer to it as Halloween.

Halloween is a very specific day, namely October 31st. The name is derived from "All Hollow Even" which has Dutch origins and stands for "All Holy Evening" or "All Saints Evening", the eve of November 1st (which is "All Saints Day").

And I hate carnival too, for the same reasons, plus the fact that everybody tries sooooooo hard to have fun on command.

Good blog though, but you really must change that "esperado" as someone before has already suggested ;-)</description>
