I hate Halloween

…and all adults in costumes and chicks trying to be sexy wearing devil horns and slutty clothes and people acting like it’s absolutely obligatory for you to have fun in Halloween and clown faces and shitty makeup and christians raving about how Halloween is a paganistic feast and too much food and drink and disco parties.

But I still go out and have fun in Halloween.

Yay.

P.S. For all non-Greeks, these days are what we call Halloween.

Sugar, I think you’re mistaken here. Αποκριές = carnival.

Halloween is a very specific day, namely October 31st. The name is derived from “All Hollow Even” which has Dutch origins and stands for “All Holy Evening” or “All Saints Evening”, the eve of November 1st (which is “All Saints Day”).

And I hate carnival too, for the same reasons, plus the fact that everybody tries sooooooo hard to have fun on command.

Good blog though, but you really must change that “esperado” as someone before has already suggested ;-)

@luc: I referred to it as Halloween for better understanding by overseas visitors. I don’t expect anyone to know our greek customs, and carnivals are not celebrated in the same way everywhere.

People dressing up and the mock of death made me refer to it as Halloween.

As for the typo, it has been fixed.
