@ cosmix: Web 2.0 is heavily based on trends, heck, it is a trend itself. But I love jumping into bandwagons

@ john: It sounded silly to me at first too. But when I used it once or twice, I got it: it’s like a mini chat. You don’t have the courage required to reply to annoying flashing chat windows? Use Twitter to tell your friends to buzz off.

I know it sounds silly. But it’s Twitter. And it’s highly addictive. Love it or leave it, folks.

Is it too late to jump on the Twitter bandwagon?

It’s not too late no. But it’s as pointless as it ever was. Twitter is the epitome of what’s wrong with ‘Web 2.0′-ish (whatever that means this week) centralised services that have no purpose whatsoever, but sell because they are central to a ‘trend’. By the way, the idea is not at all new. Twitter-like sites have been around since the early 2000s.
