I’ve expressed my heavy crush sex relationship love for Twitter before. Buzz and social media aside, it’s the only social thing that stays on during all my day, keeping me connected to interesting (or not) people, who have some nice (or not) things to share.
It’s only normal that I’ve tried a dozen of Twitter clients during those years, both for the Mac and the iPhone. I liked some, I loved a few, but I keep going back to my initial choice: Twitterrific, for both environments.
I really cannot get the whole fuss about feature-rich clients, to be frank. User lists and the whole hullaballo spoil big time the direct effect of Twitter I love so much. I suspect that people use lists to avoid the noise from particularly vocal Twitters, but if you never check someone’s tweets, why have him in the follow list anyway?
From time to time I go to un-follow sprees – but they’re short. I think my list now is noise-less enough and I intend to keep it that way. And I tweet mostly in afternoons and weekends, when I supposedly have more time to spare, I guess.
So my question is: How do you Twitter? What do you use? When do you tweet the most?
I’d be fascinated to learn about your tweeting schemes. Shoot me.

Twhirl’s my weapon of choice! As for when and how, I pretty much tweet whenever I feel I have something to say or share -this very often coincides with my mornings and evenings, where most of my free time is concentrated (not always of course -schedules can be very unstable contraptions in academia!)

Twitterific is my first choice. It is elegant and works fine.
However when it comes to iPhone apps, Twettie is the best by far. I wish there was a desktop version of Tweetie.

I use Opera’s twitter widget, which I think looks similar to twhirl. On the mobile I use jibjib.
I usually tweet a lot after eating that seed, jeez what do they put in it? I cannot think of a specific timetable that I follow, I guess if there is something to be said, I tweet it out!

@stelios Dude. I didn’t even know you had a Twitter account. Do share.
@porcupine Everyone’s so ecstatic about Tweetie! Worth the fee?
@acidsmile Tweetdeck is so intimidating. All those icons! What do they stand for?

I tweet stuff that I do not blog about. Less permanent stuff and link sharing. I use the vanilla web client.

Nothing fancy here. Just TwitterBar for Firefox and Twitterrific for the iPhone. Most of the times I just use the plain web client though.

I used to tweet via Twhirl but now as Seesmic Desktop came up, I did a test -and I’m convinced. Seesmic Desktop pwns Twhirl. And btw aren’t you a Mac user? How come you don’t use Tweetie which is everyone talking about+using? Heh.
