So! It’s been a hell of a week, hasn’t it? (and no, I don’t mean Halloween)
Last week I was informed (?) by my hosting provider that tada! all hosting accounts have to be closed. Like, CLOSED. I knew they had problems, security leaks and hack attacks and God knows what else, but shutting down our accounts completely? And informing us only in the morning of the same day? That’s absurd! What’s more, I had paid my Paypal invoice during the last night. Sometimes I kick myself for being so timely.
What’s more is that I can’t see any way of pausing / cancelling my subscription in my Control Panel, so I had to open a ticket just to ask how I could get the hell out! Needless to say, they still haven’t answered.
Thank God I had bought a 3-month hosting package at Lunarpages.com, meant to be used as a sandbox initially. It’s not the most perfect of providers, kinda too slow, but gives everything and then some in terms of and they have decent support.
So all my weekend was spent on moving blogs and finally completing the restore procedure from my LaCie to my shiny new Leopard machine. Which kicks camel’s ass, by the way, the only stable thing in my tech life during the last week.

I’ve been using Lunarpages for four years now and while they definitely had their bad moments (including the network performance issues that you mention) they are generally quite decent.
On another note, Leopard may probably be the most stable .0 OS X release that came out of Apple until now, but it still has its rough edges — I wouldn’t, in a million years, count on it being the ‘only stable thing’ in my tech life. Well, maybe by 10.5.4 it might.

My webhost is dead cheap but has proved very reliable over the last 5 years and they’re support rocks! Negligable outages and nearly every feature I want.
As for Leopard the dvd is sat on my printer next to me since last friday but I cant bring myself to install. I just have this insane premonition smth will go horribly wrong and at the moment I’m in the middle of recreating my site from scratch so it’s not time for experiments and system crashing.
I will leave it for the weekend.

@cosmix: I did mention it was the most stable thing during the last week.
All in all, Leopard treated me really nice, I guess it has its flaws but I’m sure these are to be corrected soon.
Oh, you’re Lunarpages too?
@acidsmile: Just do it, girl. Backup and make a clean install, you’ll thank me (I hope).

Yes I noticed. Leopard has definitely not been the most stable on my machine last week. Lots of AFP related kernel panics, some bugs here and there. Also the installation managed to botch my directory service entry for my account and I had to resort to single user mode and recreate my user account ‘by hand’. Not nice. But then again I guess I’m in the minority here.
Yep, I’ve been with Lunarpages since 2003. I also have a couple of accounts for clients there.

@cosmix: Found my first Leopard bug : there seems to be a problem related to Macbooks running off the battery and Logitech mice.
When the laptop screen goes to sleep, it doesn’t awake. Hmmm…

Whoops! I clicked on the wrong ‘leave comment’ button. IMHO that’s bad design, the line under the post should signify the end of the post. It seperates the elements in the wrong order.

@Mike: There is the rule of proximity: eventhough there is a separator, the whole thing is significantly far from the title of the next post, which means it’s not relative with the next post.
The separator exists to signify the end of post, that’s true, that’s where the post text ends.
Anyway, I’ll promise I’ll do better in the new theme.
