Tried to install the infamous Mac OS X 10.5.2 patch to both my Macbook and my iMac last night. First try at iMac, failed miserably. The installation process was stuck on the “Configuring” screen and wouldn’t go away, as much as I pleaded it.
I searched briefly around the Apple support fora and found out that some other users had the same problem too, but they have solved it by installing the update using the standalone installer. So I rebooted back to 10.5.1, re-downloaded 350MB, tried installing it, worked like a gem, bounced around.
It was the first time an update played up with my iMac and I wasn’t exactly thrilled. I guess I should have waited a bit but those shiny new view options in Stacks called at me like chocolate.
On the other hand, seems my Macbook battery is finally and utterly dead. Any idea about where I can find a decent replacement battery that won’t make my Macbook (and wallet) explode?

You can have the battery gutted and it’s elements replaced at a Germanos store. It actually yields good results and it’s pretty cheap compared to getting a new one.

@KCorax: Really?! I didn’t know that. I’m gonna go and ask ‘em, not that I hold much hope but oh well, anything is better than dishing out 100 euros.

More like 30E when I did it. 70 is the price for a _9_ element brand new battery from Dell, I don’t think that a even a new one is gonna set you back that much.
