It'll set you back 40€, but it's <strong>by far</strong> the best editor I've used on any platform. I've <a href="http://blog.cosmix.org/2006/03/14/textmate/" rel="nofollow">written about it</a> on cosmix.org. Needless to say, it's the only program that convinced me of buying it a couple of hours after getting the trial; I can't recommend it enough -- BBEdit seems like a bad joke from the '90s compared to it.
