In my recent trip to Rome, I had the chance (?) to travel a lot by metro, since the Bed & Breakfast we were sleeping was in the suburbs. In one of my trips there, I noticed this nice looking metro map:
I like how its choice of colours and fonts make it look cool and web-ish, while at the same time make it a highly usable tool.
Instead of the usual merry-go-round of metro stations in a simple list, it presents the past stations with muted, gray colours, while the next ones are highlighted with warm colours. Next to each stations there are some well known icons for adjacent train stations, accessibility structures, parking, while for the general direction of the line, a big nice font is used.
All in all, it’s a very pleasant map that’s easy to spot from inside the wagon, plus it makes counting the stations easy and pleasant to the eye.
Unfortunately, the only metro station I saw bearing those graphs was Manzoni, which also was the only relatively new metro station I saw in Rome. Does anyone know if this style is going to be adopted in the other stations too?
Plus, does anyone know the name of the font family used? ^-^
